Martin Taylor on Open Source sw

I edited the audio of Martin Taylor (operating principal of Vista Equity Partners) leading a discussion about Open Source software and the ILS at CODI. Maybe we could post it on the OHDUG website (it runs a bit over an hour - 45 MB MP3 file).

iGoogle Gadgetry: Add Your Library's Presence and Branding to iGoogle

Another "how-to" presentation, quite well done. Learned some neat features.

How To Implement Web 2.0 for Library Staff from Start to Finish

Corey Christians, from The Yavapai Library Network gave an excellent presentation on using JOOMLA as a Content Management System. There were several limitations and it would not be suitable for my library, but very interesting to learn about nonetheless. It was very encouraging to see how many libraries are now capable of home-grown solutions using Open Source software.

Wiki Madness at the Westminster Public Library

Great presentation and definitely worth checking out on the CODI site. Eric and Veronica went through all their considerations during the process - and how they got buy-in from staff. I found this to be one of the most useful sessions at the conference.
